John started JM Sports Coaching back in August 2004 following completion of a Sports Development & PE degree at LJMU. He gained much of his Coaching experience working for Wirral Borough Council as well as his involvement with Liverpool FC and Chester City FC. John, along with the help of full-time members of the Coaching Team, co-ordinates the everyday running of JM Sports Coaching.
Joe has been with JM Sports Coaching since October 2005 and now runs the organisation alongside John. His Sports degree and vast range of qualifications have given him great knowledge of Physical Education & Sports Coaching. Joe receives exceptional reports wherever he coaches and has that golden quality of being able to take fun sessions whilst keeping appropriate levels of discipline.
Another full-time member of our team, Kev joined us early in 2008. As well as his involvement in coaching a wide variety of sports in schools across Merseyside & Cheshire, Kev is also heavily involved in organising our Community Clubs and Holiday Courses. An integral part of the JM Sports Coaching team.
David graduated in 2010 from LJMU with 1st class degree in Sports Development with Business. Whilst studying at the university he also worked as part of LJMU’s sports coaching team. He has now worked for JM Sports for almost 2 years. David has a good interest in all sports, but his main sport is football with which he has an FA Level 2 coaching certificate. David is now doing his assessor and teacher training qualification in order to teach and assess apprentices with JM Sports Coaching.
Olly joined us in early 2009 after changing his career path from playing football professionally with local teams Tranmere Rovers and Southport to coaching. He now balances his work with JM Education alongside a full-time sports degree at LJMU, he is also heavily involved within local football club Shore Villa F.C. where he uses his skills as a level 2 football coach. Olly's enthusiasm for Sport is infectious and his friendly nature makes him extremely popular with all children that he coaches.
Sally joined our team in September 2009, after qualifying in Sport Science NVQ level 3. After training as a gymnast from an early age, she covered many disciplines in gymnastics such as; Four Piece, Sports Acrobatics and Tumbling. Sally started her coaching career with recreational gymnastics in local sports centres. She then went on to specialising in higher level sports acrobatics and trampolining. Sally has now gained a level 2 in both and coaches alongside our team in primary and secondary schools as well as other clubs on the Wirral, using her own gymnastic skills and experience to help others develop. Other qualifications that sally holds include FA level 1 and Multi Skills.
Lauren comes from a dance performance background which began from an early age competing and performing across England. Always wanting a career in dance, Lauren completed a BA Hons degree in dance at Liverpool John Moores University. At University Lauren gained a position as a performer in ‘JMUpstart Dance Company’ in which she toured across many venues and festivals throughout the UK with many renowned dance companies. It was with 'JMUpstart' that Lauren also gained her true teaching experience, with primary, high school and college students. When offered work with JM Sports Coaching, Lauren jumped at the opportunity to share her passion and enthusiasm for dance with others. Lauren is now working full time for the company in curriculum and community classes. She has also set up the dance school ‘Wirral Dance and Drama Academy’ in which she teaches children ready for performances across Liverpool and Wirral. Lauren has recently joined the ZUMBA craze and is now a qualified instructor with popular classes across the Wirral. JM Sports have also given Lauren the opportunity to embark on her teaching and assessment training. Whilst training herself, she is leading apprentices through an NVQ in Sports and Activity Leadership.
Lucy studied Dance with Community and Education at Liverpool John Moores University after training in ballet, tap, modern and musical theatre from a very young age. After experience of performing and studying at the 'Urdang acadamy' and 'The Royal Ballet School', Lucy decided to focus onto the teaching aspect of dance, sharing her knowledge with others. It was at University where Lucy became apart of the undergraduate Dance company 'JMUp Start' where she has most of her teaching experience. This gave her the opportunity to work with primary school children, secondary students and young adults with additional needs. It was here that she became in touch with JM Sports Company. For the last year, Lucy has been teaching P.E curriculum in primary school, leading before school, lunch time an after school sessions. Lucy has learnt the importance of taking responsibility for a number of new projects, learning to market, advertise and make them a success. Lucy has also set up a dance school with JM Sports, running children's dance lessons throughout the week, leading to dance shows at various different venues.
Lucy has also embarked on a new form of dance and exercise - ZUMBA, and now teaches eight classes per week, another opportunity through JM Sports. Along with all this, Lucy is now doing her assessor and teacher training qualification in order to teach and assess apprentices who are joining our company to do an NVQ in leadership and activity.
Paul joined the company in 2011, he started off as a level 2 apprentice but now is a full time JM Coach. Paul has coaching qualifications in Football, Boxercise, Tri Golf, Dodgeball plus many more. He uses his football coaching skills at a local childrens team Shore Villa, he also plays for the mens Shore Villa open age team. Paul enjoy's coaching as he likes to get young people engaged into sport, he tries to make his sessions as fun as possible for the children he coaches which always go down well.
